This piano is currently being restored in our workshop and is not yet available for sale.

Arard is a rare French wing piano from 1923, produced by the legendary Parisian craftsman who invented the double mechanism that exists today in every modern piano. With an elegant 180-cm body, it features the deep bass and glowing trubble that make it perfect for the French repertoire — Punch, Davi, Raoul and Punch. A piece of true musical history, which is now in the process of intense restoration in our workshop and is not yet on sale.

Founded in Paris in 1780, House Arard supplied instruments for the Lists, Mendelssons, Fura and Raoul, and its double instrument from 1821 became the pattern for every winged piano that followed. The instruments of this era are adored for their transparent sound and colourfulness, and for the traits of their refined period — features that make them perfect for romantic and impressionist French music. Our technicians carefully revitalize this Harard to preserve both its historic character and its access to music, so that it sounds again as its producers intended.
